Interior design of the temporary pop-up restaurant/plaza at the city hall of the city centre in Amsterdam for the duration of one year. The assignment was to create a circulair interior for civil servants, a place where they could eat and meet. With a touch of humour and a reference to the famous Waterlooplein market we have created a space for our client to get the different teams out of their traditional environment and comfort zone. This helped them to think out of the box and to collaborate in new and different ways.
With access to the city’s furniture depot we managed to create a dynamic open space restaurant / plaza with many different seating styles suitable for several different sorts of activities. We have learned to be more creative with a low budget and to have a greater awareness of re-use and up-cycling.
