ZO Jazz Stage is more than a concert hall,  it is a cultural living room for Amsterdam-Zuidoost with international allure. Located in the iconic Zandkasteel, the project transforms a former office environment into a dynamic space for music, encounter, talent development, and cultural exchange. The design translates this ambition into a clear and inviting spatial experience, with an emphasis on flexibility, accessibility, and connection. Warm colours and materials, open sightlines. At the same time, the acoustic and spatial qualities provide a professional environment in which makers can grow. The multifunctional spaces create a welcoming environment for a wide range of activities, from jazz concerts and spoken word to workshops, education, and community events. The result is an inspiring destination where architecture, music, and community reinforce one another. The team of Ruwe Bolster Art Lights & Furniture, in collaboration with brewery ‘t IJ, gave unplayable instruments from local artists a second life as unique light objects. These artistic creations add character, identity, and a personal connection with the neighbourhood to the interior.
